Ampeg BA 112 V2 Combo

The Ampeg BA 112 V2 bass combo amplifier offers robust tone and portability for bass players. With a 75-watt power output, 3-band EQ, and Bass Scrambler overdrive, it's ideal for versatile amplification.

The Ampeg BA 112 V2 bass combo amplifier is designed to deliver robust tone and portability, making it suitable for bass players seeking a versatile and portable amplification solution. The BA 112 V2 boasts a 75-watt power output, a preamp with a 3-band EQ, and an Ampeg Custom12 12-inch speaker. It offers a balance between tone clarity and low-end response, enhanced by the True 60° sound reinforcement monitor angle and Bass Scrambler overdrive.

This amplifier is built for portability with a durable design that includes an all-steel chassis, black metal corners, and a total weight of 19.1 kilograms. The construction of the BA 112 V2 is further reinforced by its roadworthy cabinet, clad in Ampeg Classic black Tolex, to withstand the rigours of travel and frequent use.

Its preamp, featuring a 3-band EQ, enables tone shaping, while the Bass Scrambler overdrive provides a gritty SVT grind, controlled optionally via a footswitch. The 60° monitor angle facilitates precise sound reinforcement.

For added versatility, the amplifier includes an auxiliary input for jamming along with external devices like smartphones and a headphone output for silent practice. The amplifier features a -15dB input pad for active basses or additional level control. However, the unit lacks FX-loop, tuner out, and line-in/out connections, focusing primarily on providing a straightforward bass amplification experience.

With over two decades of experience in the music industry, I've worn many hats - from running a record label and a PR agency to contributing to esteemed publications like Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. I've also authored books on iconic subjects such as Kurt Cobain's guitars and The Beatles. My journey led me to the editor's chair of Guitarrista, a print magazine dedicated to the crafts of guitar playing and building. Despite this diverse background, my true passion has always leaned towards the bass guitar. I have a particular fondness for offset basses and play a Thunderbird.
