Australian instrumental rock band, The Omnific, announced the release of their second album, The Law Of Augmenting Returns, scheduled for 7th June 2024 via Wild Thing Records. Following this announcement, the Melbourne-based trio released a new track titled Matrices.
Bassist Toby Peterson-Stewart described the new track: “‘Matrices’ weaves modern cascades of thumping and slap, while embracing a futuristic soundscape. This is one of the harder songs to play for all of us respectively, it’s a great example of a song that makes us all better musicians from playing it. Also, many djent.”
The band has also teamed up with Miki Simankevicius, a long-time associate and director of photography, to create a unique music video using Unreal Engine 5 technology, which portrays the band performing on a circuit board. Simankevicius shared his enthusiasm about the project: “We took the whole concept literally by leveraging new Unreal Engine 5 technology. This allowed us to physically have the band performing on a circuit board, and resulted in a completely unique and fun viewing experience.”
As part of their promotional efforts for the new album, The Omnific will embark on their first extensive summer festival tour across Europe and the UK. They will perform at several festivals including RADAR in the UK, Vagos Metal Fest in Portugal, and Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic. The tour will also feature a series of headline shows across Europe.
Bassist Matt Fack expressed his thoughts on the new album: “The Law Of Augmenting Returns is the culmination of the experience and knowledge learnt and embodied in the eight years of our existence as a band. With our creative mindset to incorporate new ideas adhered to the core principle of bass, this album paints the story of the band’s past, present, and beyond.”
The Law Of Augmenting Returns is now available for pre-order with tickets for the upcoming tour also on sale.
