Bergantino launches Forté HP2X Bass Amplifier with custom Cinemag transformer

Discover the Bergantino Forté HP2X bass amplifier, featuring a custom output transformer by Cinemag. Offering rich harmonic tones, advanced tone-shaping tools, and 1200W RMS power.

Bergantino Audio has introduced the Forté HP2X, a new iteration of its popular bass amplifier, the Forté HP2, now featuring a custom output transformer developed in collaboration with Cinemag. This addition aims to deliver the harmonically rich tones associated with traditional tube amplifiers, which are often credited to the unique properties of transformers.

By working with Cinemag, a respected name in the transformer industry, Bergantino has carefully selected the core material, winding ratios, impedance, and inductance to integrate a transformer seamlessly into the existing HP2 design. This allows the HP2X to provide the distinctive harmonic content that enhances warmth, clarity, and low-end presence in the amplifier’s output.

The Forté HP2X offers 3dB of additional dynamic headroom compared to its predecessor, along with advanced tone-shaping tools, such as Variable Low-Pass and High-Pass Filters (VLPF and VHPF), and a built-in parallel compression feature. It also includes the Bergantino Smart Drive (B.S.D.) technology, providing a drive circuit that can move from subtle overdrive to heavier distortion.

Additional features of the Forté HP2X include 4-band tone controls, a bright switch, punch switch, auxiliary input, Bluetooth capability, and a studio-quality direct output. The amplifier is also lightweight, weighing 6.4 lbs, and offers 1200W RMS power at 4 or 2 ohms, making it suitable for both studio and live performances.

The Forté HP2X bass amplifier is now available for purchase in the USA, UK, and Europe for $1,759.

With over two decades of experience in the music industry, I've worn many hats - from running a record label and a PR agency to contributing to esteemed publications like Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. I've also authored books on iconic subjects such as Kurt Cobain's guitars and The Beatles. My journey led me to the editor's chair of Guitarrista, a print magazine dedicated to the crafts of guitar playing and building. Despite this diverse background, my true passion has always leaned towards the bass guitar. I have a particular fondness for offset basses and play a Thunderbird.
