Danelectro has unveiled a new model in its range of 4-string bass guitars, the Red Hot Longhorn. This model features two high-impedance, high-output Danelectro pickups, aimed at offering a variety of bass tones.
The design of the Red Hot Longhorn is inspired by the original Longhorn bass introduced in 1958, known for its distinctive body shape and short-scale neck. The current version maintains these classic characteristics while incorporating modern updates.
The Red Hot Longhorn is distinguished by its Red Hot top with black back and sides, and includes an F hole and top body binding. It is fitted with two Danelectro 50’s pickups and a CRL pickup selector. The instrument has a 29.75″ short-scale neck with a rosewood fretboard and 24 frets. It also features a traditional bridge with a single adjustable rosewood saddle and black die-cast master volume and tone knobs.
The retail price for the Danelectro Red Hot Longhorn bass is $599. Further details can be found on the Danelectro website.
