The front panel of the Microtubes 900 v2 includes several key controls and inputs. The input jack connects your instrument with a standard ¼” mono cable. A Passive/Active push-button switch allows switching between modes based on the bass’s signal output. The Microtubes button activates the Microtubes Engine, which provides compression and harmonic enhancement, ranging from mild overdrive to high-gain distortion. This engine works in conjunction with a six-band EQ for additional tonal shaping.
The amplifier also includes a compression control knob for dynamic compression, with make-up gain adjusted automatically. The Drive knob controls distortion intensity, from soft overdrive to modern distortion. Additional knobs include Level, Blend, and Tone, which allow for adjusting the output volume, mixing the clean and distorted signals, and managing high harmonic content, respectively.
A B3K/VMT switch allows users to choose between two overdrive voicings: B3K mode offers an aggressive sound, while VMT mode provides a warmer, more neutral character. The Gain knob sets the volume before the EQ, enabling players to switch between clean and growling tones.
