Duff McKagan, the bassist of Guns N’ Roses, has announced a solo tour across the UK and Europe in support of his album, Lighthouse. The tour will start on September 30 at the Academy in Dublin, Ireland, and end on October 22 in Stockholm, Sweden. McKagan will play 15 shows across 11 countries, including UK stops in Glasgow, Manchester, and London.
Discussing the Lighthouse album with Classic Rock, McKagan described the title track as a reflection of his personal life. “In the simplest context, it’s a love song,” he said. “It’s a summation of mine and [wife] Susan’s relationship. I’m the person going across the ocean, getting washed up on the shore, and she’s the lighthouse. But also, in a broader way, during covid we were all fucking confused and freaked out: ‘What’s next?’ I was always looking for something beautiful to grasp on to.”
Recently, McKagan released an expanded edition of the album that includes eight additional tracks and a live, nine-song performance video recorded at Easy Street Records in Seattle, WA.
Tickets for the tour will be available for general sale starting at 10am local time on Friday, April 19. Detailed ticket information and pre-sale options are available on www.duffonline.com.
McKagan shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming tour, stating, “At last! At last! See you all soon. #Lighthouse. Let’s go!”
