Graph Tech introduces tuners for left-handed bassists

Graph Tech introduces the RATIO "Total Control" Machine Heads for left-handed bassists, designed for precision tuning with specific gear ratios for each string.

Graph Tech has released a new addition to its RATIO “Total Control” Machine Heads, designed specifically for left-handed bassists. These tuners are available in both 2+2 or 4-in-line configurations to suit left-handed instruments.

Dave Dunwoodie, founder of Graph Tech, explained the importance of this innovation. “We understand the challenges left-handed bass players face in finding equipment that meets their specific requirements,” he said. “With our new RATIO Total Control Machine Heads for Lefties, we’re proud to offer a solution that combines unparalleled precision speed in tuning your bass.”

Introduced to bass guitars five years ago, the RATIO tuners incorporate balanced-gear tuning technology, with each string having its own calibrated gear ratio. “From the Low E to G string, ratios range from 36:1, 30:1, 20:1, to 18:1, ensuring consistent and precise tuning across every string,” according to Graph Tech.

Specifications for the new left-handed bass tuners include:

  • Gear ratio: unique for each string position – one turn-one tone
  • Peg holes diameter required: 35/64″ (14mm)
  • String post diameter: 0.547″ (13.9mm)
  • String post length to string hole: 1.030″ (26.1mm)
  • Weight per single machine head: 1.86oz (53g)
  • Weight per set of four: 7.44oz (212g)
  • String diameter up to 0.98 gauge (or larger if taper-wound)
  • Package includes 4 machine heads, mounting screws, and bushings

The Graph Tech RATIO lefty bass tuners are now available for $114.99.
