J. Rockett Blue Note

The J. Rockett Blue Note pedal, with its versatile overdrive and "Hot" switch for added gain and volume, offers a dynamic range of bluesy tones in a compact design.

The J. Rockett Blue Note is an overdrive pedal designed to provide a wide range of tones, from subtle bluesy warmth to more pronounced overdrive. Unlike typical tube screamers, the Blue Note offers a broader spectrum of gain and a more dynamic sound palette. The pedal features a “Hot” switch that adds more gain and volume while boosting the low midrange, resulting in a thicker and juicier tone.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the Blue Note can be adjusted to run with a flat EQ or to emphasise the mids when the “Hot” switch is engaged. The pedal also offers true bypass switching to maintain signal integrity when it’s not in use, and its compact size makes it a practical addition to any pedalboard.

In terms of power, the Blue Note runs on a standard 9-volt battery or power adapter. It draws just 8mA of current, making it energy-efficient for extensive use. The pedal measures 4.75 inches by 3 inches.

The J. Rockett Blue Note is available for purchase through authorised dealers and the manufacturer’s website.

With over two decades of experience in the music industry, I've worn many hats - from running a record label and a PR agency to contributing to esteemed publications like Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. I've also authored books on iconic subjects such as Kurt Cobain's guitars and The Beatles. My journey led me to the editor's chair of Guitarrista, a print magazine dedicated to the crafts of guitar playing and building. Despite this diverse background, my true passion has always leaned towards the bass guitar. I have a particular fondness for offset basses and play a Thunderbird.
