Neural DSP launches the Nano Cortex Pedal

Neural DSP introduces the Nano Cortex pedal, featuring Neural Capture technology in a compact, affordable design. Now available for $549.

Neural DSP has introduced the Nano Cortex pedal, a compact follow-up to its Quad Cortex, which was first released in 2020. The new pedal combines a digital amplifier, cabinet simulator, and effects processor in a portable package.

“Since we first unveiled the Quad Cortex and Neural Capture in 2020, our mission has been to push the boundaries of what’s possible in music technology. The Nano Cortex is the latest evolution in that journey,” said Douglas Castro, CEO of Neural DSP Technologies. He described the pedal as offering the same advanced sound capture technology as the Quad Cortex but in a more accessible, compact, and affordable format.

The Nano Cortex includes features such as Neural Capture, which allows users to replicate the sound of any amplifier, cabinet, or drive pedal, and an Impulse Response loader. Additional functionalities include a built-in Noise Gate, a Transpose feature for tuning flexibility, MIDI I/O, and a fully-fledged 24-bit/48kHz audio interface. Users can also customise footswitch functions, adjust parameters, and manage presets wirelessly via the Cortex Cloud app.

The Neural DSP Nano Cortex is now available for $549.

With over two decades of experience in the music industry, I've worn many hats - from running a record label and a PR agency to contributing to esteemed publications like Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. I've also authored books on iconic subjects such as Kurt Cobain's guitars and The Beatles. My journey led me to the editor's chair of Guitarrista, a print magazine dedicated to the crafts of guitar playing and building. Despite this diverse background, my true passion has always leaned towards the bass guitar. I have a particular fondness for offset basses and play a Thunderbird.
