The Neural DSP Parallax Plugin is a versatile solution for bassists seeking comprehensive control over their sound. Designed for maximum clarity, aggression, and tonal control, Parallax is a tool that allows bassists to sculpt their desired tone with precision.
This plugin processes the mid and treble bands separately using Neural DSP’s proprietary tube modelling technology, which adds rich harmonics and a natural response. The High Drive control, in tandem with the HPF Frequency control, lets users achieve the perfect balance of fuzz and tightness. The Mid Drive control further enhances the tonal colour by adding throaty distortion and articulation.
Low-end processing is managed separately, allowing for the distortion of higher frequencies without compromising the foundational bass. A precise bus compressor algorithm ensures the low end remains tight and massive. The six-band graphic equaliser gives users an extra layer of control over the distortion texture, attack, and overall tonal shape.
The Parallax Plugin also includes a comprehensive cabinet simulation section, offering flexibility with various microphones that can be positioned around the speaker. The cab simulation affects only the mid and high bands, enhancing their musicality while avoiding low-end interference in the mix.
With more than 100 presets designed by renowned artists and producers, Parallax provides a wide range of tonal possibilities to bassists. Additionally, the standalone feature allows quick installation for practice and live use without the need for a DAW.
Key features include multiple tube gain stages for mid and treble, a high-pass filter for distortion control, level controls for mid and treble bands, a low-pass filter for low-end response, and over 50 impulse responses across seven microphones. Parallax is compatible with the latest Windows and Mac OS versions, including Apple Silicon. It supports VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone formats. An iLok account and License Manager are required for activation.
