Sterling by Music Man introduces the Intro Series StingRay Bass

Sterling by Music Man's Intro Series StingRay bass offers bass players a solid option at $249.99, featuring a ceramic humbucker, passive electronics, and a comfortable maple neck. Available in Misty Green, Electric Blue, Black, and Sunrise Orange.

Sterling by Music Man has introduced two new models as part of its Intro Series, designed to offer high-quality instruments at an accessible price point. This collection includes a StingRay bass and a Cutlass guitar, each available in a range of new finishes.

Central to this bass is a ceramic humbucking pickup paired with passive electronics, delivering a familiar yet flexible tone that can suit a variety of musical styles. The bass features a poplar body with a contoured design for enhanced comfort during play. Its hard maple neck, finished with a smooth satin coating, offers a pleasant and easy grip, while the narrow 40mm nut width ensures straightforward playability. The StingRay boasts a 34″ scale length, 21 medium frets, and a 9.5″ neck radius, making it a well-rounded choice for any bassist. The fixed bridge, dual-action truss rod, and open-gear tuning machines further contribute to its solid build and reliable performance.

The StingRay is available in four finishes: Black, Electric Blue, Misty Green, and Sunrise Orange, retailing at $249.99.

The Intro Series models will be available globally starting Monday, August 19th. They can be purchased directly online or through retail partners. For more information, visit sterlingbymusicman.com.

With over two decades of experience in the music industry, I've worn many hats - from running a record label and a PR agency to contributing to esteemed publications like Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. I've also authored books on iconic subjects such as Kurt Cobain's guitars and The Beatles. My journey led me to the editor's chair of Guitarrista, a print magazine dedicated to the crafts of guitar playing and building. Despite this diverse background, my true passion has always leaned towards the bass guitar. I have a particular fondness for offset basses and play a Thunderbird.
