Sunn Amps introduces the 1000-Watt DoomBox Cabinet, a 4×12 built for power

Sunn Amps introduces the 1000-watt DoomBox, a "first of its kind" 4x12 cabinet built for high power handling and crafted for durability and clarity in extreme volume settings.

Sunn Amps has launched the DoomBox, a high-capacity 4×12 cabinet engineered to handle 1000 watts, making it the first commercially available cabinet of its kind with such power. With four 12-inch drivers, each rated at 250 watts, the DoomBox is designed to support both bass and guitar, delivering clean, undistorted sound at extreme volume levels.

The cabinet was developed with input from artists working in low-tuning, high-volume genres, giving the DoomBox the durability and power output demanded by professional musicians. Constructed from Baltic Birch plywood using finger-jointed assembly for enhanced durability and tonal integrity, each DoomBox cabinet is hand-built in the U.S.A. and finished with Sunn’s custom Tolex and grille.

Key specifications include an 8-ohm impedance, a 1/4-inch input, and a total weight of 107 pounds. Priced at £1.850, the DoomBox is crafted to provide punchy lows and a balanced response, making it suited to both studio and live environments.

With over two decades of experience in the music industry, I've worn many hats - from running a record label and a PR agency to contributing to esteemed publications like Metal Hammer and Terrorizer. I've also authored books on iconic subjects such as Kurt Cobain's guitars and The Beatles. My journey led me to the editor's chair of Guitarrista, a print magazine dedicated to the crafts of guitar playing and building. Despite this diverse background, my true passion has always leaned towards the bass guitar. I have a particular fondness for offset basses and play a Thunderbird.
